Kiosk Mode: Fast Login for Shared Devices (PIN & Scan)

The Challenge

In high-frequency environments like production lines, users often share a single device (e.g., a mounted iPad). Currently, logging in via standard credentials or SSO can be too slow for workers who need to access instructions quickly. This friction can lead to users staying logged in under the wrong account or avoiding the system altogether.

The Proposed Solution

Introduce a Kiosk Mode specifically designed for shared hardware. This mode would keep the Knowby app "active" on the device but allow individual users to switch profiles or authenticate in seconds.

Key features would include:

• Quick PIN Access: A simple 4-digit code to unlock a user profile.

• Badge/ID Scanning: Support for scanning QR codes or ID cards to instantly log in.

• Auto-Logout: A timer that returns the device to the Kiosk "ready" screen after a period of inactivity.

The Benefit

This will significantly speed up workflows for floor staff, ensuring that "time to information" is as low as possible while maintaining accurate logs of who is completing which tasks.
